Special Education or Special Education Needs refers to students with learning, physical or developmental needs . 

This course focuses on teaching and managing students with learning disabilities. More specifically, it concentrates on differentiated teaching, pedagogical support to the needs and characteristics of every student. It provides the necessary steps for designing a fair and inclusive education system, on the characteristics and benefits of an inclusive learning classroom and on mastering the art of teaching for different models of disability.

 

 

Course Content

Week 1: Introduction and Differentiated Teaching

Week 2: Inclusion and Critical reflection on SEN

Week  3: Equity in Education

Week 4: Models of Disability and the Interactive Factors Framework

Week 5: Final Review - Revision and preparation for the final assessment

Week 6: Course evaluation and Assessment 

The course consists of one multiple choice quiz carrying a weight of 100% towards the final course grade. In order to successfully complete the course and obtain your certificate you need to achieve an overall grade of 50% or above at the quiz.

A certificate will be issued upon completion of the course.
